Project Life Member Gallery Spotlight

I am always so inspired by the Project Life spreads found in our Member Gallery!  We just love looking at your work!   Here are a few that caught my eye this month!

I love the layouts that krystyn13 posted in our Member Gallery!  I love how she used the Summer Bucket List (and typed on it) from our Saltwater Collection.   In the second layout, the beach photos with the woodgrain "Beautiful Day" tag is perfect together!

I love that Mariclaudi really focused on the photos in this spread!  The orange card stands out as a great compliment to the many photos. 

There is so much good stuff in damitaprilurcool 's layout-- I love all the photos, colors, and tags she was able to incorporate.   Including a list of the books currently reading is such a great idea!

Project Life

This week's Project Life covers the week of August 26-September 1.

This was the start of many new things in our home this week--- the start of a full week of school, new routines, the start of a long holiday weekend, and the start of a new life for our dear friends.   Lots of good stuff.

I kept it simple, design wise.  I pulled various Elle's Studio products and matched it with the Seafoam Core kit that I am using.  

I loved stamping the hearts (from our Penelope Stamp, available next Monday!) onto a photo punched in a circle.   That photo melts my heart.

Project Life

This week's Project Life covers the week of August 19-25.

This is the first week documented in my third album for this year-- it's back to school week!

I used a variety of Elle's Studio products-- various pieces from our Monthly Kits (which are beyond perfect for Project Life), and many items from our new Penelope collection.

Since it was such a big week, I included an insert.  The front part is about my daughter's first day of kindergarten, and the back side is about my son's first day of first grade.

It was also a big week for us because my family hosted a huge party which we do every year at the end of August.   There was a magic show, horses, swimming, bounces houses....and a photo booth of course!

I placed my photo booth strips in the 4x6 spot and let it hang over.  (one of these years we will get one of the whole family.... it's hard to track everyone down for a picture!)

Project Life

This week's Project Life covers the week of August 12-18th.

This week was the last full week of summer at our house.  The last full week is always jammed pack with fun activities, which is why I included an insert.   This is also the last week in the second volume of my Project Life album for 2013.  The first week of school starts my third album.

This week was full-- a trip to the pool, the zoo, bowling, horse back riding, art lessons... oh and my family and I dressed up like the Skywalker family, no biggie.

I wanted to use a large photo on the front side of my insert, but didn't have a photo on hand that was enlarged.   I found our zoo brochure and I trimmed a photo of a lion and included it on the front.  I love the impact the photo brings and that it's trimmed down the center of the image.

I included a few items from the Cameron Collection and the menu card is from a past Elle's Studio exclusive kit.

I LOVED the vellum card and the "goodbye summer" tag found in the September Kit.  I journaled on the kraft "Big Story" card about my thoughts on the end of the summer and layered the vellum on top of the pocketed page.   I stapled the vellum to the page and used staples on the tag as well.

Project Life

This week's Project Life covers the week of August 5-11.

Slowly but surely I am catching up from the summer.  Last week I allowed myself to take time to work on my kid's new school albums , resulting in being one more week behind on our weekly Project Life albums.   That is just life and there are things that will cause us to get behind in our albums-- no big deal!

True, I believe it's easier and more inspiring to be working on a week that is fresh in your mind, however, there are many things you can include when working on a week that is not in the forefront of your mind.

First, keep it simple.   There are not a ton of embellishments on this spread, just a few.  I wanted to spend my time trying to get caught up.   Second, use photos of inanimate objects to fill in space if needed.  (like the photo of the sunflower, and the calendar I included).  Third, use found objects to tell a story (back to school shopping for us this week).  And finally, don't be afraid to just journal even if there is not a corresponding photo.

For this spread I used a mixture of Saltwater items and Penelope (available early september!)
